Certified Tutor

As a teacher for 30 years before retirement, I was a leader for 15 years, heading a history department from 1992=2000 and then as head of English from 2008 to 2015 when I retired. My strengths are personal communication and ability to make students feel at ease with the taught subject. I often used real life examples in my teaching to make it more relevant. I was entirely educated in Scotland from age 5 to 22 culminating in receiving an M.A. (Master of Arts) Degree and then a P.C. Ed (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) from Hong Kong University while teaching in HK. During my teaching career I taught history, economics, business studies and English at both secondary and tertiary level. I have also written 12 English textbooks for the Hong Kong school and supplementary market. I enjoy teaching history and English the most being a native English speaker and can give elocution lessons.
