I studied at the University of Florida where I double majored and received a Bachelor of Arts in English and Japanese. I also minored in linguistics with a focus on teaching English as a Second Language. I'm currently a student at Marian University where I am working on a Masters in Early Childhood Education.
When I graduated from the University of Florida, I moved to Tokyo, Japan where I taught English for years. While there I tutored after school where I helped students prepare for college entrance exams and interviews.
Currently, I am a first-grade teacher, but I have experience teaching most grades, from pre-k through high school. I tutor various subjects but my passion lies in literacy. I love helping struggling readers unlock the tools they need to become more confident and proficient readers.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, cooking, playing video games, spending time with my pets, and doing things that allow me to be creative.
