Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Bangor University where I recieved a BSc degree in Marine Biology and a MSc in Marine Environmental Protection. I then went on to graduate from Sunderland University with a PGCE and qualified teacher status. I have experience in teaching all sciences across all secondary key stages from year 7 to year 11 and I have taught biology at A level. I am passionate about science, particularly biology and I have a strong interest and background in ecology and marine biology. I spent several years working as an outdoor educator for the Wildlife Trust covering ecological education before moving into secondary education as a full time science teacher. My favourite subject to tutor is biology, it has a wide range of applications and the content is particularly interesting and easy to make quite fun, even online. I have great experience in supporting students through standardised tests, particularly GCSEs. As a teacher I like to give a lot of support for students to answer their own questions, I find that helping students develop the tools to tackle questions and difficult tasks is the most rewarding part of teaching. I am also a firm believer in the power of education to help people achieve their goals. I think that education opens up a wide range of opportunities for students and achieving the best results for you will give you the freedom to control your own future. In my free time I enjoy long walks, rockpooling and playing the SIMS 4.
