Certified Tutor
I am currently a second year student reading for their BA in history at Cambridge University. With over 2 years of tutoring experience, I can safely say that I love what I do. Seeing my students progress and the recognition that they are improving is an experience unlike any other, one I can hopefully share on this platform. Over the first lockdown, I began tutoring on a website called MyPocketSkill across a variety of subjects: A-Level and GCSE English; A-Level Economics; A-Level History; and intermediate guitar. The experience was so rewarding that I decided to undertake my CELTA the following January. I have since been able to put it to good use, briefly teaching English in Costa Rica in a local community. These experiences mean that I have taught a variety of age groups, from students as young as 6 to adults as old as 50. My expertise lies in the subjects described above - guitar is a personal favourite - but history would obviously have to be my strongest.
Although I am younger and less experienced than some of the tutors on this platform, I do not consider this to be a disadvantage. I think the benefit of tutoring is that it can be tailored to the specific needs of the individual student. As such, while some older tutors may be set in their ways and convinced that they know what's best, I am flexible and adaptable in my approach, and willing to change things if students feel like they aren't seeing any progress.

Undergraduate Degree: university of Cambridge - Bachelor in Arts, Political Science and Government
I love to play the guitar and have been playing for almost 10 years. My music taste is open and I am always experimenting with new genres, but my preferences are predominantly rock and metal. I am an avid lover of sports - I am captain of my college's football (or soccer to Americans) team, and have recently joined my university's powerlifting society. Travel is another passion of mine. I am very lucky to have travelled widely by such a young age, but I am eager to travel more and plan to spend future summers revisiting South America and hopefully going to China and Southeast Asia.
