I am passionate about helping students because I enjoy encouraging and helping them learn. As a student, I had to work hard to obtain good grades. My teachers who went that extra mile will always be special to me. My ultimate goal is to touch my students' lives and build confidence in their education.

I had the privilege to teach English Language Arts to grades 6-8 for eight years. I worked with a diverse group of students that required extra attention. I had to be creative in my teaching techniques, as they all learned differently. I accepted the challenge to make them better students and to build trust in myself. I was awarded Teacher of the Year for the 2012-2013 school year.

I received my Bachelor's Degree from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in General Studies and pursued my Master's Degree at Louisiana College. I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I was a little girl. I realized as I got older that there was a calling on my life to teach children.

I enjoy teaching English Language Arts because I love to read and I like the challenge grammar presents. As I said before, I had to put forth a lot of effort in school, but reading and grammar came naturally.
