Certified Tutor

I am a qualified English language teacher, having completed my level 5 Trinity CertTESOL in the UK. I am able to complete in depth student assessment, and plan and deliver lessons to individuals and groups of students. To date I have worked with learners at A1 and B1 levels.
I am a patient, warm and encouraging teacher. My aim is to fully understand my students' needs and abilities and facilitate their learning. For me teaching is a partnership between teacher and student, in which teacher works with student to help them achieve their aims. I use a wide range of materials and techniques in lessons and seek feedback to make ongoing improvements to my teaching.
I have a passion for language and have studied languages (French, German and Spanish) to various levels. This experience means I fully understand what it is like to be a language learner.
I have a BSc (Hons) degree in Occupational Therapy obtained in 2002 and worked for 20 years in the British National Health Service helping individuals achieve their rehabilitation goals. In this role I completed a considerable amount of teaching and mentoring, developed many of my own educational materials, and discovered a passion for teaching.
