Certified Tutor

I am a zesty graduate of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction: Early Childhood Education in 2008. Since graduation, I have taught and coached in the Greater New Orleans area in and out of the classroom. Being a parent and an educator in the charter schools community helped me understand the gaps in instruction and fear of common core. I developed a love for being solution based to support parents and their scholars navigate standards from the classroom to the home.

While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most tickled about close reading and elementary math. In my experience guiding struggling scholars through interactive illustrations is most effective. It provides confidence and accuracy in attacking standards and assessments.

I am a firm proponent of education, believing visualization pushes learning. With me, scholars are welcomed to use use their artistic flare to build conceptual learning. Let's bust out the crayons, markers and colored pencils to improve understanding through art!
