I am a Junior at Quinnipiac University. I will graduate in 2024 with my Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and in 2025 with my Master of Arts in Teaching (Secondary Education).
I chose to become a teacher with the hope of having a positive impact on students by guiding them through their growth. Specifically, I decided to study mathematics because I am passionate about the field and also to correct the negative stigma that surrounds the subject and its educators. I plan to bring enthusiastic energy into the classroom every day and create a comfortable learning environment for all of my students.
Currently, I am working in a middle school classroom alongside a teacher. So far, I have spent about 35 hours in the classroom and will continue this in my next semester. When I am in the classroom, I work directly with students on questions they may have, and also lecture in small groups. This has enabled me to gain real classroom experience while also giving me the opportunity to work with students one on one.
Besides my academics, I am heavily involved with intramural sports at my university. As team captain, I organize team practices and remind my players of upcoming games. Some of the sports I play include flag football, soccer, basketball, etc

I like to play a lot of sports during my time away from school. Over the summer I play an Irish sport called Gaelic Football. I am on the adult men's team for my county and also coach younger players who are interested in the sport. A Hobby of mine is playing the drums. At school, I am a part of the Jazz Ensemble and we have a concert every semester. I have played the drums since the 4th grade and have never stopped loving it.
