I have spent most of my career helping young people develop more effective written communication skills so they can succeed in college and in their chosen career. I have taught more than 6,000 students during my career, and I can help you become a more effective writer. I work with high school and college students as well as adult learners.

I also love talking with students about literature and exploring the exciting themes and issues that help us learn about life. I have taught courses in American, British and world literature, and dozens of other courses in the humanities and other special topic seminar courses.

Hobbies

Reading is one of my great passions and allows me to learn more about important ideas of modern culture. I also love to go outside and walk or run every day and commune with nature to forget about the daily stresses. At the end of a busy day, I often enjoy listening to music, especially great songs from the 1950s and 1960s or classical music.
