I am an Undergraduate and soon to be Masters Graduate at the University of St Andrews (MA in Medieval History, MLitt in Middle Eastern History. My special interests are in history, politics, law, and religion. Throughout my time at university, I have strived to cover as much human history as possible, as I firmly believe one is better capable of understanding the world around them if they can learn to understand the past of different cultures and peoples. If you have any areas of history you are interested in but are not strictly part of your course feel free to ask me and I might be able to teach you a thing or two. I apply my knowledge of the past to my other areas of interest to gain a rounded perspective of all these subjects. I believe the study of these subjects is more than the dry memorization of dates and facts but a way to explore ideas and train important skills for later in life. These subject areas are a field in which to practice critical life skills at all ages, such as critical thinking, communication, and indeed core skills in writing and grammar. I also enjoy reading and creative writing as outlets of relaxation in my down time, ask me for book recommendations fiction and non-fiction!
