I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

I hope you love learning, because I love teaching! But if you don't love learning, that's likely to change while you are working with me.
I've been teaching for a good many years - and I have discovered many innovative ways to reach students who are having difficulty with their studies.
I have found that a somewhat collaborative approach can often help a student, if they are open to it. By "collaborative", of course I play the role of "guide" through this journey. You could say, I have the map, but together we decide which might be the best route to take.
This reminds me of times when I literally have taught students how to use a map. There are always many choices of how to get from point A to point B. The question is simply, which is the most effective and efficient way?
Of course, if it's a matter of some creative study, such as creative writing, or perhaps musical improvisation, the student may want to choose the more scenic route. Then it's just a question of, which route most effectively will create the scenery we want to create?
