I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Certified Tutor

I earned my Bachelor's in Comparative Literature from Yale University and my Master's in Adolescent Education from St. John's University. I am currently working on a degree in Computer Science with a minor in Applied Mathematics.

I began tutoring the SAT in college and learned how disparate educational experiences can be. That work heavily influenced my decision to become a teacher. Immediately after graduation, I launched a Mandarin language immersion program for preschool children in Colorado, then transitioned to working with legal databases for JP Morgan Chase, and finally landed a full-time teaching position in a middle school in the Bronx.

Since 2012, I've taught middle-school English at the Honors level, with ELLs, and in integrated populations; high-school English at the 11th- and 12th-grade Honors and AP levels; and middle school Gifted and Talented for 6th through 8th grade. I've created curricula for test prep programs and for home schooled English students to mimic college-level coursework. Education is both the hardest and most satisfying job I've ever had; I don't regret a single moment.

I look forward to bringing my love of learning to each session. I'm excited to get back to academic tutoring especially in English, Algebra, and Geometry and am thrilled to support more students as they prepare for their future.

Outside of academia, I occasionally play soccer in local pick-up games, frequent karaoke halls, audition for plays and musicals on the community theatre circuit, and play with my two pups and toddler.
