I believe knowledge gives you power. I have been a high school teacher for 25 years, and I know when students have knowledge, it changes them for the better.

I feel every student learns in a different way, so I always teach students using various methods. I want every student to feel successful and to love science.

When I was in college, one professor had a poster that said, "What in the world isn't Science?" I still think of that every day. Science is in our food, clothing, soaps, cars, everything that touches us daily relies on science. I want every student to see that and appreciate science every day.

I will do everything in my power to make every student feel they are worthy of a high-quality education in science. Because everyone is worthy.
