I am a graduate of Hofstra University where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and my Master of Arts in Fantasy Literature. Since graduating, I have spent fourteen years teaching at the college level and six at the high school level. I enjoy working with students of all ages and abilities. I love teaching highly motivated college students how to write effective essays, and I love being able to inspire disengaged high school students who struggle in school. Most of all, I love being able to help students see how reading and writing can be relevant and FUN! When I assign work and my students start to whine, I remind them that everything we do in English class is fun and the only appropriate response to homework is, "Thank you, Ms. Johnson, for this educational and enriching assignment. I can't wait to show you how much I am learning!"
