I am a graduate of The University of Texas at El Paso. I received my Bachelor of Science with a focus on earth science and physics. Prior to that, I'd received an Associate's Degree in Microcomputer Electronics, and worked as an Electronic Technician in the U.S. Postal Service. Following graduation, I received my Texas teaching certification for Earth Science, then for Composite Science for grades 6-12. My first teaching position was 7th and 8th grade Science, which I taught for three years. I was then at a high school for nine years, teaching Integrated Physics and Chemistry, Astronomy, and Principles of Technology (a Career and Technology course adapted to meet physics requirements). After 12 years in public school, I taught six years at a private school, teaching a variety of courses, but mainly Physics, Chemistry, Pre-Calculus, and junior high world and U.S. history. I do my best to teach with patience and understanding, trying different ways of helping if one way isn't successful. I recently left the classroom to assist my mother with her properties, and to homeschool one of my children. If I'm not with my children, I'm usually hiking, reading, baking, or eating what I bake.
