I have been working with Varsity Tutors for over six months and have enjoyed working with children 2nd - 5th grade. I enjoy tutoring Math and Reading. I have figured out a way to combine reading and math by introducing passages or readings that involve word problems. I like to make learning fun and getting to know each child's uniqueness. I have been teaching for over 30 years. I earned my BS degree in Physical Fitness and my Elementary Certification (UPK - 6th) from SUNY Cortland. I have also earned my Masters degree in Curriculum Studies. I enjoy combining curriculums to fit the child's needs. I teach all areas of Math and Reading focusing on reading comprehension, sight words, vocabulary, reading fluency, spelling, and context clues and decoding. Basically all areas of reading.

I am always doing something to keep busy. I enjoy being creative through knitting, stitching quilting and reading. I try to spend time outside walking or gardening. I also have 3 children. Two boys adopted from Korea and a daughter from China. My pets also keep me busy 1 dog and a cat. I am a proud Nana of three beautiful grand daughters who are always on the move.
