Facilitating successes with students is endlessly exciting, I never get tired of seeing students have "aha!" moments when a tricky concept finally clicks! My teaching philosophy is best described as being partner oriented. I work WITH students to get them where they want to be, we are both learning in this context.
I have worked with K-5 students for the last 2 years in my local public school system specifically supporting students with special needs and students learning English as a second language (ESL). I have also tutored university students learning English for 3+ years. I have a Masters degree in curriculum and instruction and BA in linguistics, both degrees earned at the University of Kansas. I grew up speaking Spanish and have studied abroad in Argentina and Guatemala. I love helping students of all ages with their Spanish!
