I graduated from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology with a Master of Science in Atmospheric Science, and from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Science. While finishing my master's, I spent 3 semesters as a graduate teaching assistant in multiple classes related to atmospheric science. These included:
-Introduction to Meteorology
-Atmospheric Thermodynamics
-Air Quality
-Atmospheric Dynamics
I have the most experience with one-on-one and small group study sessions, but I have led entire classes. My learning style has always been hands-on, so I have found a similar approach works best with my students. My favorite subject to tutor is physics, where I can demonstrate strategies to solve the problems but allow the students to find their way to the correct answer. So far, my teaching experience has been limited to the collegiate level. I know I will also be right at home with high school curriculum, especially for the college-bound high school students interested in the STEM fields.

Graduate Degree: South Dakota School of Mines and Technology - Master of Arts, Environmental Science
My academic passion lies in fire science and fire weather. I most recently have been employed as a research scientist contractor working with the US Geological Survey, studying fire effects in the Black Hills, SD and across the US. Outside of academics, I enjoy getting out to hike in nature, especially when interesting weather comes. I also occasionally find time to play trombone in jazz and wind ensembles. I've found music to be a fantastic outlet for a stressful day!
