Certified Tutor

I am a recent Magna Cum Laude graduate from the State University at Albany (UAlbany), with my Bachelor of Science in Human Biology. I am currently pursuing enrollment in Physician Assistant School with aspirations that include diversification as it relates to inclusion in the field of medicine.
I began tutoring students while I was a high school student at the Young Women's Leadership School of East Harlem. My mother worked at a local elementary school as a teacher and in collaboration with my high school we were able to start an afterschool tutoring program. I continued to tutor students while I was in college in a program called Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID). During this time as a tutor, I assisted high school students mainly in Algebra and Calculus. Although I have experience with multiple subjects I am most passionate about subjects involving mathematics.
I believe that with proper teaching and guidance our future will encompass great benefits especially because children are our future. As a tutor, I push my tutees to try their best and assist them via strategies that best fit them. Their academic obstacles will not only be their own instead, they become our obstacles that we will overcome; as we will with all challenges we may face throughout our time together.
