As a professional Tutor of Varsity Tutors, I will patiently assist the student to learn in a joyful manner to build rapport, interest, and confidence in the subject matter. I have experience in tutoring students from grades K4 to 12th in all subjects, as well as English and Creative Writing at college level. I have tutored students with various learning styles and learning challenges, such as ADHD, dyslexia and focus issues.

I believe in teaching a student in such a way that he/she enjoys what they are learning and want to consider further exploration of the topic. In my experience, I have concluded that students learn best when they are motivated by a subject they are truly fascinated in. Therefore, I introduce a topic that interests them within the subject matter being taught. This fascination can lead to interests that last a lifetime. And this fostering of joy in learning a subject is my main goal in tutoring the student, along with a progressive outcome. Acknowledging each student's uniqueness, results will be achieved with personal guidance the student can relate to.

I have enjoyed working with various students with Varsity Tutors for the last two years creating lesson plans that tailor to their individual needs. I have truly enjoyed the rapport I have established with each child, as well as seeing their achievements and growth with confidence in each one's learning abilities, (especially reading skills).

I homeschooled my three sons from kindergarten to 12th grade teaching all subjects. I have tutored students in my local area and planned co-op classes for three years. I have experience with assisting students who are reading challenged, focusing on phonics. I had a student who I worked extensively with to teach to read. My joy was that he learned to read and had exceptional reading comprehension. Most importantly, all through these many sessions he enjoyed the story. I also take pleasure in writing and helping students to develop their writing style.

I obtained my Bachelor of Business Administration degree from King University, Bristol TN in 2021. I enjoy gardening when the seasons allow, as well as making jams and jellies from wild berries. I also enjoy walking, hiking, and swimming. I love nature and animals and exploration of both. When time allows, I appreciate a good inspirational book.
