I love that as writers, we can influence and even charm our reader's emotions by our expression of thoughts and our ability to voice the expansion of our imaginations and understandings through words alone. Writing gives us the freedom to create a world where we set the rules, settings, and intentions of characters and act the way we want them to. It's a world where everything can be placed how we want it to be, and as writers, we control everything. My favorite authors include George Orwell, Kate DiCamillo, Ray Bradbury, and Margaret Atwood, whose novels are inspiring because they pushed me to read more to understand power dynamics and the importance of seeking your destiny. My love for creation and innovation has stimulated me to love writing and help others find that love.
English Literature has furthered my knowledge of the stylistic devices employed by various writers.
Social work and Political Science have primarily helped me acquire the skill of interpreting and learning complex factual information. Both subjects have developed my understanding of ethical and contemporary issues and have complimented my love for writing. These subjects continue to offer me opportunities to formulate my explanations while emphasizing the importance of open-mindedness in appraising the perspectives of other historians. I want to share the tools that have made me successful in my career with my perspectives students to help them on their respective journeys.
