Teaching is something I was born to do, and no matter what my vocation I enjoy connecting with my students, clients and coworkers in a fashion that is professional and educational where beneficial.
The classroom, of course, was where I found my love of teaching mathematics to high school students. Currently I am an online ESL teacher (for about four years now) teaching my first language, grammar and conversational English to learners from around the globe. To me, coaching and teaching are synonymous. Having been a basketball, soccer, and throwing coach (especially Javelin) I apply the techniques from each to enhance the experience for the other.
Being enthusiastic and energetic, I get quite involved in lessons, and enjoy watching my students, athletes and co-workers excel beyond their expectations.

Hobbies

Sailing is number one. I am a skipper of a 24 foot Shark sailboat, racing twice per week during the season on the St. Lawrence River. Running is a close second, but recent surgery (knee) keeps me off the streets for the time being. Singing - great for the soul, and a way to cheer anyone up no matter what. Cooking - I am fortunate to be flexible with my time so that I can be the cook in our house. When I'm waiting, without something to read (like at the Doctor office) I will master my skill at Hearts on my phone.
