Lauren Shaner, DNP, RN, CPPS, CPHQ

I am a graduate of Indiana State University where I received my Doctorate of Nursing Practice with an emphasis on executive leadership in May of 2021. Previously, I received my Associate Degree in Nursing in 2011, my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2015, and my Master of Science in Nursing with an emphasis on leadership in 2017. Since graduation, I have worked a variety of roles gaining experience as a Registered Nurse beginning at the bedside of a level 1 trauma hospital on the kidney transplant unit and then medical intensive and intermediate care units. After five years, I ventured into quality improvement, process improvement and education. I completed those roles for about 3 and 1/2 years prior to taking a leadership role for about the last
2 years, managing over 50 employees in three different departments. I also teach at the local community college as Lead Adjunct Faculty since January of 2020. I am most passionate about meshing nursing and technology in order to fit a variety of lifestyles and ensure students are successful. I enjoy teaching on online platforms and received my certification for online teaching from Quality Matters in early 2021. I also am double certified in patient safety (CPPS) and healthcare quality (CPHQ) since 2018.

In my spare time, I am a foster parent of three, coach Junior High Girls' Basketball, read any genre of book, enjoy the outdoors and visiting family.
