Certified Tutor

I have 18 years of teaching experience. I taught Special Education at both the Middle School level and Elementary level for 15 years, as well as ESL for three years in an online setting. I am certified in Special Education and Elementary Education and I have taught classes in Science, Social Studies, and English. I also have certifications in Wilson Reading and TESOL/TEFL (150 hours) in both of which I have taught classes as well. My teaching style online is very similar to my classroom teaching style in that I encourage my learners to do their best work while providing strategies to achieve success. Students have a natural ability to learn and I am happy to say they do it online as well as my students did in the classroom. Come join me!

My area of specialization is teaching scaffolded reading skills and strategies as well as teaching scaffolded writing strategies. Because I have worked with many grade levels of both General Ed and Special Ed students, I am well prepared to work with a variety of student age groups and their learning styles. I am excited to be offering my teaching style online. My philosophy of teaching has always been to support every student in my classroom with patience, caring and scaffolded guidance. All of us deserve to learn in a warm, supportive atmosphere with a teacher who can provide quality instruction at the student's level. When a student feels supported, learning is a natural outcome.
