Certified Tutor

I graduated from Colorado State University in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering. I am certified as an E.I. and a P.E. Currently, I am working towards a master's degree in Social Work with a focus on Latinx communities at Boston College.

The bulk of my tutoring experience comes from my time in the Peace Corps. I served as a Community Environmental Conservation volunteer in Panama from 2015 to 2018. I co-taught Science, Environmental Education, and English in a multi grade one room schoolhouse with students aged 5 to 12, I also tutored middle and high school students in English after school. I have also been a youth mentor and enjoy making connections with students and encouraging them in their academic journeys. I worked for four years as an engineer at a small municipality in the water quality group where I managed the water quality database and performed process optimizations for water and wastewater. While I no longer practice engineering, I am very passionate about water and wastewater treatment and processes and am most excited to help future engineers achieve their certifications. My philosophy around engineering exams is that while it is important to know how to do the problems, it is even more important to learn how to think about problem solving.

In my spare time I enjoy reading, hiking, camping, and skiing. I love backpacking and always spend at least a week of the summer on solo backpacking trips.
