I am excited to help students move forward towards meeting their academic goals. There is nothing like the satisfaction of knowing that a student is able to open up new frontiers for themselves through learning.
I have found that through patience and repetition students are able to gradually take on what once seemed impossible.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy from Russell Sage College in 1992, graduating with "Magna Cum Laude" accolades. This launched off my physical therapy career. I have spent the last 25 years as a Home Care Physical Therapist. Currently I am exploring options that will help with traveling to Mexico and beyond. For example I am considering pursuing a TEFL certificate so that I can eventually help people of all types including medical professionals learn English as a second language.
Currently my tutoring tends to be physical therapy related. I can help you brush up on Anatomy, Physiology, Kinesiology, Cardiology, musculoskeletal issues and injuries, post surgical rehab, muscular system issues. I help with the understanding of appropriate therapeutic interventions and modalities.
I primarily assist PT graduates in passing the NPTE. The measurable results simply cannot be beat. I love to pass on knowledge of how biological systems work and interact in the more generalized sense. There is so much joy of discovery in this realm.
Teaching for me strengthens my core power and energy, empowering others through knowledge and mastery. Teaching extends timeless power and beauty that comes with the timeless truth of "what is".
Permaculture Design has been my hobby and obsession over the last several years. I am passionate about restorative ecology with the ethics of care for the earth and care for people. We humans are meant to inhabit this earth while nurturing it. We are not separate, but are of this earth. I have taken on small scale animal husbandry as a hobby and avocation. Ducks and chickens are tremendous recyclers of nutrient and are wonderful helpers in creating rich garden soil! Together my husband and I are creating a bio-diverse landscape that conserves energy, water and nutrient in order to maximize human and ecological resiliency.
