"I did it, Ms. Wendy!" Hearing this statement from a student makes me want to shout for joy! I know I was put on this earth to educate, motivate, and assist students with achieving their goals.
I am from North Carolina, and I received my bachelor's and master's degrees from North Carolina State University. I have lived in Texas for the past 28 years.
My entire professional career has been in the field of education. I have taught students at the college, high school, and middle school levels. In addition to teaching, I also spent many years serving as an academic counselor to students. Last year, I retired as a senior academic counselor with the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science. After spending a year away from students, I realized how much I missed them. I recently virtually taught a comprehensive summer curriculum to 7th graders from New York. The curriculum included mathematics and language arts. I did not want the program to end, and I am very excited about having the opportunity to work with students again.
I am available to teach mathematics and language arts at both the elementary and middle school levels. I am also available to teach study skills to students at all levels, in addition to editing and proofing college essays for high school students. I WOULD LOVE TO HELP YOU!!!
