As a PhD Candidate in Civil and Environmental Engineering, not only am I passionate about learning subjects pertaining to civil engineering, environmental engineering, environmental science, and those of a general science nature, but I am eager to pass what knowledge I do have to other students. I obtained my BS in environmental engineering from the United States Air Force Academy, after which I was an active duty Air Force civil engineering officer for 5 years where I had in-depth, hands-on experience with projects of a civil and environmental engineering nature. As an officer, I greatly enjoyed the leadership opportunities offered to me, as I was able to mentor junior and senior Airmen on the intricacies of science and engineering. After leaving the Air Force, I obtained my Masters of Science in Civil Engineering recently, and just completed all required coursework for my PhD in Civil Engineering. My experience with graduate level course work is very fresh. As well, I have had ample experience as a teaching assistant in graduate level engineering courses, as well as mentorship opportunities for undergraduate students encompassing a wide array of scientific subjects. My teaching style is very simple: I want you to learn the subjects, and enjoy learning the subjects, because success comes forth much easier with enthusiasm and a positive experience with learning.
