I am an artist at heart. I am an accomplished artist and I have won several awards for my artistic talent. My artwork was chosen from over hundreds of pieces to be on display at California State University, Northridge art gallery. At high school, I passed the Advance Placement Art class by preparing a portfolio. I focused on painting architectural details of mosques, cathedrals, and temples. I chose this topic because I was awed by the glory and beauty of religious sanctuaries. I have explored working with variety of media, such as color pencil, oil paint, and water color. Recently, I have embarked on a new challenge and that is to paint on cloth (velvet) and glass. I take pleasure in the challenges and discoveries that are inherent in use of a new media. The subject of my work varies from still-life and portrait to scenery. Dimensions of my artwork vary from small photograph-like pieces to big canvas paintings. Often, my painting is inspired by an individual or an event that I encounter. Then this inspiration takes on the form of exploration and innovation on my paper or canvas. In process of creating a new piece, I always rediscover the world and myself because I have learned to appreciate the beauty of an ordinary subject or object. Painting has a special therapeutic power that helps me restore my energy and refresh my mind.
