Bronnie

Certified Tutor

I started my formal education in a small southern town, graduated from Strayer (College) University and University of Maryland University College UMUC), in addition to attending a multitude of seminars, classes, courses, and conferences.

I have an Associate of Arts (AA) in Business; Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting, Masters of Science (MS) in Software Engineering and certificates of completion in similar subject matter and subjects of interest.

I have experience as a tutor in courses such as Adult Education, General Educational Development (GED) and Girls Who Code (GWC). As a former Girl Scout leader, I participated in the personal development of my troop members through badge work and educational endeavors designed to widened their horizons. I have also been a college instructor and a trainer in several high-profile corporate environments.

I tutor in a range of subjects and disciplines but I specialize in business management, accounting, finance, and computer and information technology as well as project management. Perhaps computing is my favorite because of its immediate interactivity.

When instructing or tutoring a student, I value that they are able to grasp the concepts and objectives of the subject matter. Thus, in a class format, I introduce the objectives that we expect to achieve and execute the plan with presentation lectures followed by dialogue and questions and answers. In a one-on-one setting, I work with the client in ensuring a curriculum that helps to achieve the outcomes in a style that best suits their learning style.

Outside of academia, I love exploring new things whether that is through travel, physical adventures or adventures of the mind through reading; or pursuing additional training. I enjoy dancing and watching DIY and legal dramas on television. Family is a big part of my life and in addition to spending time with my family, I love reconnecting the pieces of our history with genealogical research.
