As a professional educator, it is my duty to help students enhance their skill sets to the best potential they could possibly be.
As a forever student myself, I appreciate taking in information and learning more about the world as often as possible, which has given me an eclectic background of knowledge.
I started my college years in Minneapolis, Minnesota at Augsburg University. There I obtained a studio art degree, film production degree, and a minor in liberation theology.
After graduating, I lived in El Salvador and taught film editing, art, and photography in Spanish for a summer. Upon my return I found a job at a comedy club, I was an Administrative Marketing Manager for two years.
I was accepted to an MFA program at American University in Washington DC which brought me to the East coast. I studied Film and Electronic Media with a focus on Social justice. For my thesis I did a short documentary on urban agriculture and the sustainability of it across the United States.
After graduating with an MFA, I found a position at the School of Communication tech department where I started as the Media Production Specialist.
I managed two broadcast journalism studios, an audio booth, as well as numerous computer labs with Mac and PCs.
After working in this position for almost a year, I was promoted to the Theater Services Coordinator of the School of Communication. There I manage technology, run events in the theater, as well as edit educational videos for professors.
My background as of recent is primarily in technology, but I have a great deal of knowledge of art, gardening, as well as theology.
I hope to use these skills to help students who need assistance with these types of subjects, and to give new perspective of these subjects as well.
