I retired in 1997, after 23 years of teaching math and science in Alaska to students from many different cultures and skill levels. I sincerely enjoyed the diversity of my students because it required me to be more innovative. My classes included accelerated students combined with the more challenged. To keep everyone equally interested and motivated, I created several unique techniques that were easy for all levels to understand and remember, and valuable enough to continue using through higher math. Self-Confidence is the common denominator which all successful students share. At all levels, creating methods for them to experience real successes is the key to building self-confidence. Having confidence in oneself is self-motivating and can lead to many more successes. I would very much enjoy being part of your child's successful educational journey. I am flexible and can typically find a way to accommodate your preferred times.

I have always enjoyed various sports either with participation or observation... from an early age, this led me to statistics/numbers which gravitated me towards the enjoyment of math. My teaching experiences also led me to the ability to travel to very interesting places in this world.
