Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Palm Beach Atlantic University with degrees in Biology, Secondary Education, and Physical Education. I also attended the University of Florida for masters work in the fields of Human Anatomy and Kinesiology. Throughout my career I have continued my education by obtaining my National Boards for Professional Teaching, certification in AP Biology, and certification in first aid and CPR training.

I have been a high school teacher and coach for 22 years, and love helping students discover, experience, and succeed in science. I am a firm believer in inquiry learning, and allowing students the freedom to create experiments and learn through cooperative efforts. I have taught many subjects including STEM Education, Anatomy and Physiology, AP Biology, Biology, Earth Science, Marine Science and Physical/Health Education. I also coach volleyball, both beach and indoor, at the high school varsity level and club.

My favorite subjects to teach / tutor ( and learn about! ) are Anatomy, Biology, and Ecology. I am amazed by the diversity of our planet-much of which we are still discovering! I am enthusiastic and passionate about science, and how I approach teaching my students is to share that excitement and appreciation of our world.

Outside of teaching I enjoy activities such as volleyball, golf, hiking, training / playing with my dogs, playing the piano, and fishing. Oh, and for relaxing there's nothing like Netflix or a good book!
