Greetings!
My name is Christopher Wood and I love working with students to achieve their goals. Creating a personal relationship with my students is extremely important to me, as I feel it is the best way to assist students in their own learning process. Understanding how to motivate a student and assist them in overcoming obstacles with the English language are my first priorities as a tutor. I have two master's degrees in Education, so I draw on a vast pool of knowledge about how best to reach and teach a student. I also specialize in working with students who are learning English as a second language and helping them tackle the formidable task of becoming bilingual by using their mother tongue and culture to enhance learning and create a positive environment for growth. I also love to have fun with my students!

Learning should not a painful process, nor should it be a boring one! Finding ways to make reading, writing, speaking, and listening to English FUN is probably my favorite thing to do as a teacher. I really love to learn and my goal is to make my students feel that way as well. I hope we can connect and start on the road to success with English together!

Hobbies

I am a big fan of sports and outdoor activates. I love to hike in the mountains and explore new places. I play baseball every Sunday during the summer and I love all types of team sports. I feel that working together as a team is the pinnacle of social interaction and I seek opportunities to do so often. I love to engage in watersports as well. I travel to Florida often to fish, boat, sail, and enjoy the ocean. I have a bareboat Captain's license with the U.S. Coast Guard and I try to use it as much as I can. I am also a big fan of comics and video games. I love watching the heroes from my youth I read about in comic books come alive on the big screen these days. I love to read good fantasy books and am always looking for good book recommendations.
