Certified Tutor

I am a Marine spouse of over 10 years. I've lived all over the US as well as overseas. My undergrad is from George Mason University, but my most recent degree is from Craven Community College with an A.A.S. from the physical therapist assistant program. I graduated with a 4.0. I have had many, many careers throughout my life but there has always been one constant. EDUCATION. I have always been drawn to jobs where I can teach someone something new. I've taught dance and guitar classes. I've been a group exercise instructor, personal trainer and lifestyle coach. I've been a preschool teacher and Marine Corps trainer. I will soon be moving to Japan and unable to work as a PTA but plan to keep up my skills by working with the Red Cross and taking on tutoring opportunities. I hope this challenge will help me become a college professor once I return to the States. I love learning something new and then immediately sharing that information with someone else. I love to get creative with my teaching techniques with songs, poems, and acting out concepts. Having a dance background, I have found if I learn the information with my body, I'm more likely to remember it. It's how after 30 years, I finally came to understand the cross-bridge cycle in anatomy. I'm looking forward to helping my students take on their challenges and achieve their goals!
