Hi Everyone! My name is Alex, and I am a recent graduate of Franklin & Marshall College where I studied Classical Languages and Political Science. I knew I was passionate about teaching and tutoring upon beginning my professional career as an AmeriCorps member in Washington, DC. In this role I work in a math classroom and lead small group tutoring sessions. I focus on both academic support and social-emotional learning.

The subjects that I am passionate about include math, English literature, languages (French, Latin, Greek), as well as standardized test-prep. I have primarily worked with K-12 grade levels.

My past experience in education includes summers spent working as a Teaching Fellow for middle and high school English Literature. One of my favorite experiences has been my work as an Advising Fellow, mentoring and guiding students as they apply to college, write personal statements, and fill out FAFSA/application information.

I have led tutoring sessions throughout my time in college and beyond, focussing on holistic learning and creative thinking. I am an enthusiastic and committed tutor who believes that all students, with the right guidance, can develop skill mastery and success.

In my free time I love outdoor activities including biking and camping. I also love reading, playing pick-up sports, and birthdays!

I work hard in order to ensure that students not only feel familiar with course material but are also excited to learn. I am passionate about education access and equity and working with students until they feel they are able to demonstrate their full potential.
