Certified Tutor

I'm am a recent graduate of Penn State University in secondary education English. My love of teaching motivated me to get my teaching certificate as a returning adult after years of working as a professional in the work force. I am beginning my teaching career during a historically difficult time for educators, parents, and students. As a mother of teenagers and an educator, I empathize deeply with the emotional toll the school year is taking on everyone. This has inspired me to offer myself as a personal educator to anyone who may feel overwhelmed about the year to come. While I'm a newly certified teacher, I am not new to education and I'm passionate about engaging students in learning. I'm also a certified life coach with a focus on positive psychology which makes me uniquely qualified to support students, parents, and teachers socially and emotionally while helping them reach their educational goals. I specialize in guiding students through the writing process, both creative and academic, in addition to helping students comprehend, interpret, and think critically about literature, poetry, and other texts. I look forward to helping your student appreciate and ultimately master English language arts.
