Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Bryn Mawr College. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English with an Education Minor. I am taking a gap year before I embark on getting my Master's in Teaching and teaching certification. In addition to my fieldwork placements, where I worked with a wide age range, I've worked with students as a seventh grade writing teacher for a summer schooling program. I am most experienced in English tutoring, specifically essay writing. I love analyzing literature, finding hidden symbols, and getting into a writing flow. My teaching style is democratic and engaging - I like to ask my students questions, learn more about them and their learning styles, and help them not only with their current assignment but how to handle tasks in the future. I also generally want the tutoring experience to be enjoyable and for students to have as much fun with reading and writing as I do.

Hobbies

Other than literature, I love films (of all types!) and theatre, having done improv comedy in my past. I also am learning Spanish and the ukulele in my free time, when not hanging out with my cats and dog! Additionally, I enjoy volunteering and encourage students to volunteer if possible.
