I am a rising senior at Vanderbilt University, majoring in K-12 special education. My life's work is education, as I have been serving practicum and volunteering my time with several tutoring services for the last four years. I have experience with every type of student, special education, AP, and everything in between. My most practiced areas of expertise are in K-9 math and K-8 ELA and reading. Although, I did just complete a new reading comprehension curriculum for the established Kennedy Center Reading Clinic in Nashville, TN. Reading is definitely my passion and strong suit. However, my teaching philosophy is to make my work kid-centered, assuring that I am meeting the educational and emotional needs of my students. As I teach, I focus on exuding care, compassion, and excitement. Students often find learning contagious, and a healthy mix of extroverted love for teaching with organization and explicit content typically yields beautiful learning progress. Outside of the classroom, I am often channeling my art and nature hobbies. You can catch me painting, drawing, creating, paddle boarding, and exploring whenever possible. I am always searching for more opportunities to connect with students and curve their growth, and I am beyond excited to share this educational experience with your students!
