Grace: Homewood tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a 1984 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. After graduation, I worked as a software engineer for six years. After having my first child, I discovered my love of teaching. And my teaching experience includes homeschooling my four children for several years (All of them have careers in STEM fields!). Since 2002, I have been teaching math, science, logic, and computer science in a private school setting. It has truly been a joy and privilege to work with middle and high school students, especially when a particularly difficult concept was finally understood. I have a strong passion for math and science, as well as the tenacious desire to help the light bulb "turn on" for my students. I have a tremendous amount of enthusiasm for these subjects, and nothing fills me with greater joy than seeing students develop an appreciation for them as well. In my spare time I enjoy hiking, gardening, reading, and spending time with my children and grandson.
