I believe all students, regardless of age or ability, should be "met where they are" and treated with respect.
Goals, both big and small, must be set. Victories, regardless of size, must be celebrated. Only then can true learning occur.
If I am working with a college level Writing student, it is important to me that they gain the skills they need. Like all true teachers, my goal is to get you to be able to do it without me.
The same is true if I am working with an elementary student on Math skills.
