"Knowledge is the key that unlocks the door to success" has been my motto for the last 20 years. One of the greatest joys of teaching is seeing each one of my students grow as an individual and academically. I have always wanted to be a teacher since I can remember. I wanted to give back to my students what was given to me, "Chance to learn and grow." For me, it seemed only natural to obtain a career in the area of my first love, "TEACHING." I teach because it's who I am and what I do. It's my chance to do something meaningful and fulfilling with my life. When I see my students getting excited about learning; I feel that same excitement as though it was me as a child again. It reminds me that I have imparted knowledge into each one of my students, whom I loved.

I believe that all students have a right to learn. I believe that schools should be designed so that students, no matter their differences, stay intellectually challenged. Schooling should center on the goals of making students democratic citizens and prepared for the real world. Individuals should be taught lifelong lessons that will allow them to advance in society and allow society to evolve as a whole.

As a teacher, I wanted to design a curriculum centered on student experience. I wanted to include vertical integration into my lesson plans so that the students continue to stay challenged and apply what their prior knowledge to what they are learning next. I wanted my students to be able to apply abstract theories more and more to literature and time goes on and is able to write creatively and analytically. I also wanted to incorporate fun and creative language activities so that my students leave my classroom with a more pronounced lexicon and an ability to use more vocabulary in their everyday speech. Using some of the aspects of the constructivist method in my classroom, I wanted my students to take on the challenges given to them and accept responsibility for their own work. I believe that the role of the student is to give great effort and take part in their own learning experience. Students need to be open participants, reflective thinkers, and respectful citizens both in and out of my classroom.

In turn, my role as a teacher is to give children the tools with which to cultivate their own gardens of knowledge. To accomplish this goal, I teach to the needs of each child so that all learners can feel capable and successful. I presented a curriculum that involves the interests of the children and make learning relevant to life. In my classroom, I wanted students to have the freedom that allows for expression and creativity. Students should be able to experiment with likes and dislikes and to realize their strengths and weakness. After this base is developed, the curriculum can be molded to tie in each student's learning style. Students should be allowed to learn in an atmosphere free from criticism and open to creativity.

I believe that education is an individual, unique experience for every student who enters a classroom. In order for children to benefit from what schools offer, I think that teachers must fully understand the importance of their job. By providing a quality education to each individual in one's classroom, a teacher equips children with the tools necessary for success in life.

I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. I believe that each and every child has the potential; to bring something unique and special to the world. It's my desire as an educator to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, support risk taking and invites a sharing of ideas.

"As a teacher, I must, without fail, reach my students and instill in them the knowledge needed to tread life's highway." My determination has to be unyielding and unblemished by the child's economic circumstance, social status, race, religion, or any other thing. I, as well as Jean Piaget and Vygotsky, believed that social interaction and active learners, are important. I believe children learn the best when they are provided with an education that is developmentally appropriate, that can challenge and help to expand their knowledge. I know that I have the skills to help any student to achieve.
From my educational experiences, I know how valuable encouragement and, motivation is for personal motivation; I intended to motivate students while teaching them to be intrinsically motivated through challenging yet supportive lessons and assignments.

Teaching is a rewarding and demanding profession which has given me the power to shape the lives of our future teachers, professors, doctors, attorneys, scientist and do on. I believe this is what God has intended for me to do. "Teach"
