Metaxia
Certified Tutor
Hello! I love teaching and have a vast amount of experience in the Montessori pedagogy and have worked with children aged 18 months to 16 years of age. Being a non-diagnosed dyslexic student throughout primary and secondary school, I understand the struggles students have in today's school systems. I have devoted myself to aiding children with reading issues and general education. I have received certification in the Multi-Sensory approach from the Academy of Ortan-Gillingham. Both Montessori education and the Orton-Gillingham approach allow children to understand the English language in a concrete manner. I am passionate about educating the whole child and being a support to the families. In addition, I also have had a successful art career and was a wall muralist. My work is displayed in several restaurants, schools, and private homes in the Washington DC area. My love for the arts is contagious and can be a great contribution to lessons. In addition, I am also working towards becoming an A.M.I. consultant. My personal goal is to aid as many children in achieving their own personal goals throughout their school career.
