Certified Tutor

I am an economics major at the University of Virginia. I chose economics because I have always been interested in business. Alongside pursuing my economics degree, I have decided to work towards a finance concentration and a data analysis minor. From a young age, I have always been interested in the business world. Throughout middle school and high school I was involved with different business clubs such as FBLA. Part of my role in FBLA was to volunteer in my community. I began to tutor elementary schoolers at my local elementary school. The students I tutored would often have problems with disengaged teachers at school and busy parents who didn't have time to help them with homework. That experience is what made me decide to apply to be a tutor because it opened my eyes to how some students were being let down in their school systems. In college, I continued pursuing my interest by working with my friends whenever they needed to make a stock pitch and applying to be in other business based clubs. Working on these various pitches inspired me to apply to have a concentration in finance.
