I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Certified Tutor

I am a junior at Amherst College studying Chemistry and Education Studies, and it goes without saying that I delight in the process of learning chemistry!

Although high school chemistry can certainly be challenging, I believe that the deep processing and engagement that comes with tackling difficult problems has great potential to heighten one's appreciation for the study of matter.

I have had extensive experience tutoring chemistry at both the high school and college level, both individually and one-on-one. As a high school junior and senior, I tutored sophomores in standard/honors chemistry. I have severed as a teaching assistant for an intensive section of intro-level and general chemistry courses, as well as an as-needed peer tutor for these courses. I have also served as a teaching assistant in mandatory discussion sections of General Chemistry, in which lecture concepts are reinforced in a smaller group setting.

Currently, I seek remote tutoring opportunities compatible with a remote college schedule (meaning, in general, a lot of flexibility!) I am based in the Boston area and welcome tutees from anywhere!
