Certified Tutor

My name is Kathryn Vela, but my friends call me Katie! I am a 25 year old graduate student, currently finishing up my Masters in General Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Texas at San Antonio. I obtained my bachelor's degree in biomedical sciences at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi. When I'm not in class, I am working as a graduate research assistant for my university, conducting different biochemical and medicinal research. I am also working as a Teachers Assistant (TA) for my university, teaching and tutoring general chemistry labs/lectures. Throughout both my graduate and undergraduate career, I have also had a strong focus in the healthcare field, working and shadowing at local dental and medical offices while also studying for the Dental Admissions Test (DAT). My strategy when tutoring is simple every student is unique and should be treated that way! Not everyone learns the same way, so it is important for me to get to know my students and understand what works best for them. I aim to provide a comfortable and relaxing, yet diligent and successful tutoring environment for all of my students. Let's succeed together!
