Hello there! My name is Melanie. I have a Bachelor of Science in Biology as well as a Masters of Health Science in Clinical Laboratory Science. I have studied a broad range of subjects in the scientific field. A few subjects included are Biology, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, and more. I am currently a scientist and I'm strongly interested in becoming an instructor of biological sciences at a college or university.

I am excited to help you and/or your child excel in your academics by providing innovated ways to help you learn the necessary material. I have previous volunteer experience tutoring elementary math at an after school care facility. Also, I have previous employment as a tutor for college Biology 1 & 2.

My favorite subjects to tutor are Biology and Math. I tutor because it brings me joy when I see the expressions students give once they grasp an understanding of a topic. I enjoy taking the time to understand students and their process of thinking. Tutoring show me how every person has his/her own way of thinking.

As a tutor, my teaching philosophy begins with trying to understand where a student needs help. Asking questions and allowing students to explain to me what/how they understand a topic will allow me to determine where to start. I enjoy using white boards, pictures and objects to help under stand a topic. These are items that I, and many students I know, have used throughout my education to help understand topics.
