Gary: Arlington tutor
Certified Tutor
I graduated from Lehigh University with a BS Chemical Engineering and BS in Business Administration. As a result, I tutor chemistry and mathematics, as well as finance. I also studied Spanish for 6 years; so I tutor elementary Spanish. My tutoring style is: "I first determine what success is to the student. I emphasize starting from where the student is at each session and then building a bridge to where we need to be to reach success. I also emphasize student reading new material as homework and then start the session we student questions about the material (i.e. where they are) and moving to working problems while I observe the students thought process in working the problem. Then assist the student as needed. I minimize lecturing TO the student." I tutored my granddaughter, who was home-schooled her senior year, in chemistry and math. I addition, I tutored a colleague in math for her MBA entrance exam. I have extensive stand-up training experience to adults in my corporate years. As a business consultant, I trained ~200 men and women in Business Planning. I have five years experience in Sunday school teaching to adults. Outside interests included tennis and racquet ball. I enjoy theater and movies. I'm a life-long learner and enjoy sharing with others what I've learned. I'm also past president on the Austin-based Metropolitan Breakfast Club, where I also led a team that replaced an archaic web site.
