I've been teaching English/Language Arts for nearly 20 years. My teaching experience has included both elementary and middle school subjects: history, language arts and science. I have an equal number of years teaching 5th grade all subjects as well as 7th grade ELA and Science.

Prior to working in education, I was a journalist, so I love to help students tell a story, organize their thoughts and put together powerful pieces of writing.

When I'm not teaching, I'm probably outside in my garden, down by the pool, or in a lake somewhere. I love spending time with my grown children and with my two pups. I'm also teaching myself to quilt.
