Certified Tutor

Education has always been a fundamental value in my life. I was the first in my family who was granted the opportunity to go to college and it was a transformational experience. I originally intended to pursue a law degree, but after my undergrad, I decided to instead choose a path that was consistent with my values and true passion. I joined Teach for America in an effort to help dismantle educational inequity. I served my two years as an elementary school teacher in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District where I still currently work. I've dedicated my life to pursuing educational equity through teaching and through advocacy. I believe access to an equitable, rigorous education is a fundamental human right and I have used my position as a teacher to promote this belief. My students are held to high standards and are empowered to meet those standards through strategic lessons on confidence, leadership, and social-emotional learning as well as academically appropriate and challenging work. My students have proven to benefit from these lessons and have achieved far beyond previous expectations that have been established for them. I intend to continue the promotion of my belief that all students are capable of high achievement through my service as a Varsity Tutor.
